Today’s
women are independent and enjoy successful careers. They are happy
because they look at life from the larger perspective of being
creators, nurturers & providers. Female literacy rates in India
have grown from 29.76 % in 1981 to 54.16% in year 2001. Research also
shows that the work participation rate for urban women in workforce is
16%. Therefore women are sharing an economic responsibility in a
household. Thus products customized to suit their needs will have an
increasing demand.
Commenting
on this scenario Mrs. Anjana Grewal, Sr. Vice President- Marketing
& Communication, BSLI said “Today’s women have to juggle time and
energy to strike a balance between different roles. Our Critical
Illness Rider for Women is specially designed for the women of today,
keeping in mind her needs, wants and desires; but more importantly her
health. With an increase in the limits of tax deduction under sec. 80
D, increasing from Rs.10, 000 to Rs.15, 000 in next financial year,
there is a greater opportunity that women can take to buy health
related riders with insurance plans.”
